The Red Cross offers adult swim lessons through our innovative, learn-at-your-own-pace Learn-to-Swim program. Developed for older teens and adults, our program gives adult swimmers at every level the opportunity to improve their skills in a safe environment – and under the guidance of a trained instructor.
We offer a variety of swim programs, ranging from learn to swim lessons to recreational swimming to training for swim team competitions at our indoor pools in the fall, winter, and spring. To find indoor pools near you, please visit our Pools page. We offer learn to swim classes for adults and kids.
We offer summer Learn to Swim classes for toddlers (1 1/2 to 5 years old), children (6 to 17 years old), and adults (18 years old or older). Cost. Free with an NYC Parks Recreation Center membership. All Learn to Swim participants, including children, adults, and the parents of tots, must be members of a recreation center.
Learn to swim in the YMCA's indoor pools across the city. Our affordable swim classes teach beginner adults how to tread water, swim strokes, or improve lap swimming skills in our advanced classes.
